Forensic science that’s
attention to detail
sets a new standard.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Criminalistics Laboratory (JCSOCL) isn’t just solving complex research problems—it’s raising new questions about the future of laboratory design.
Supporting its mission to aid criminal investigations with high-quality forensic science, the new facility integrates nine specialized research laboratories, each custom-crafted to meet the unique specifications of the discipline it serves.
Maximizing efficiency, streamlining workflow and maintaining the highest levels of safety and security, the new laboratory also upholds JCSOCL’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship. Upon completion, the building’s green design and energy-efficient approach achieved LEED Platinum certification—demonstrating that state-of-the-art research and sustainability are a (scientific) formula for success.
